Software Release Manager Jobs in Washington

A Software Release Manager in the technology industry is responsible for overseeing the development, testing, deployment, and support of software releases. The main role involves managing the process of releasing high-quality software products on time and within budget. This includes coordinating with various teams such as development, quality assurance, and operations to ensure seamless and successful software releases. The Software Release Manager also plans, schedules, and controls the movement of releases to test and live environments, ensuring that the integrity of the live environment is protected and the correct components are released.

Key skills for a Software Release Manager include project management, strong technical acumen, problem-solving ability, and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, and software like JIRA, Confluence, and Jenkins is often required. A certification such as Certified Software Project Manager (CSPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) would be advantageous. Prior to becoming a Software Release Manager, a person may have roles such as a Software Developer, Quality Assurance Analyst, or IT Project Manager.
