What a SAP ABAP / Java Developer contributes to Cardinal Health
Our Information Technology department oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
SAP ABAP / Java Developer performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally facing business needs.

Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces including SAP ABAP and other languages e.g., Java, JavaScript, MySQL.
- Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
- Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
- Understand the value of and be prepared to implement comprehensive unit testing patterns.
- Experience and be comfortable working on fast-paced Agile teams
- Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards.
- Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages
- Interfacing with SAP and Non SAP systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in related fields preferred or equivalent work experience preferred
- 1 - 3 yrs of technical expertise in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of SAP program, user exits, SAP APIs ,ODM Rules Projects and ensure that projects meet or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements preferred.
- Develop, test, debug, implement, maintain, and document ABAP code, develop SAP API, enhance SAP user exits.
- Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specification documents, and conduct unit, integration, and release testing to validate functionality
- Experience in developing software in SAP NetWeaver ABAP Stack environments.
- ABAP Objects, ABAP Reports, ABAP online transactions, Web Dynpro Interface/dialog programming, BAPI, ALE and IDOC User Exits, BADIs, and Batch Programming
- SAP BRF+, SAP DSM, and Business rules service on SAP BTP knowledge/experience preferred
- SAP integration with Business rules management/allocation tools e.g., IBM ODM Preferred
- Knowledge in IBM ODM 8.9.x and above version, Core Java, Web Services, JSON and in setting up decision center preferred.
- Strong communications skills to effectively communicate at different levels of management.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team.
- Experience in Design and Development of the following - Decision Table, Decision Tree, Action Rule(BRL), Technical Rule, Rule Flows, BOM and XOM, Synthetic Class, Function Task, Rule Task in in JRules / WODM / ODM preferred.
- Exposure in Deployment of Rule App and Rule Sets in Rule Execution server.
- Experience in setting up of Decision center for business.
- Exposure to SOA.
