Location: Columbus, OH (ONSITE)

Duration: 6-12+ months contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Active Directory domain consolidation efforts, including planning, design, and implementation.
  • Assess existing AD environments and develop a comprehensive migration strategy to consolidate multiple domains.
  • Execute trust establishment, group policy design, user and object migration, and decommissioning of legacy domains .
  • Perform Active Directory health checks , security hardening, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with security best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AD, DNS, and authentication issues during and after migration.
  • Document technical designs, migration steps, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to IT teams on best practices in AD management.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to business operations during the transition.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Active Directory administration, migration, and domain consolidation .
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and authentication protocols (Kerberos, NTLM, SAML, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with ADMT (Active Directory Migration Tool), Quest Migration Manager, or other migration tools .
  • Deep understanding of security best practices, access controls, and role-based access management in AD.
  • Experience in designing and implementing trust relationships between domains and forests.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), hybrid identity, and cloud-based identity solutions is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Core Infrastructure (Retired but relevant)
