The Position

The Data Coordinator is responsible for the overall data and analysis for their assigned programmatic function. The Data Coordinator will provide oversight, review, and compile reports to ensure the accuracy and integrity of participant files, electronic records, and program data and outcomes. They will be the primarily liaison between the Data Unit and their Program Function. The Data Coordinator is expected to have a high level of expertise in HMIS and is required to maintain the highest level of accuracy.

What You'll Do

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing support to Data Unit and Program Function
  • Develop and implement collection system and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Perform and analyze performance-based data as requested by supervisor and Program Function
  • Document data management policies and procedures
  • Track outcomes and monitor progress toward meeting established goals
  • Analyze programmatic data to determine strengths and gaps
  • Administer client databases, including generating and analyzing reports, user management, and adherence to Homeless Management Information Systems policies and procedures
  • Design, develop, and implement regular reports for various audiences, including staff, board members, donors, press, etc.
  • Assist the Data Manager and Data Unit in the research and resolution of data errors. Following organizational procedures, notify team members when resolution steps have been executed

Training and Support

  • Help develop and implement training programs aimed at developing staff capacity
  • Provide regular technical assistance/trainings to staff to ensure compliance with data requirements
  • Assist in the annual updates to performance report technical requirements
  • Ensure HMIS data is supported by documentation in participant file
  • Provide support to Quality Assurance Team, as needed
  • Attend agency and community meetings as directed by supervisor
  • Additional tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

What You're Skilled At

  • Should possess strong research and analysis abilities; skilled at creative thinking with the ability to problem-solve on an organization-wide basis
  • Must be able to exercise initiative and independent good judgment when faced with unclear or questionable data, and be able to extrapolate intent from non-standard submissions.
  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple priorities and projects within tight department metrics and deadlines, as well as ability to manage conflicting priorities and projects.
  • Should possess very strong attention to detail and solid organizational skills, with pride in accuracy and quality of work; must also be highly collaborative within a solid team environment.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer service focus in working with all internal organizational levels and external contacts.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in program evaluation or reporting.
  • Previous experience with social services and/or homeless programs required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and HMIS

Other

  • Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standards
  • Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Ability to pass post-offer Tuberculosis (TB) clearances
  • Ability to work a 9/80 work schedule

Experience

  • Bachelors degree in public administration, public policy, human services, statistics, psychology, social work, or other closely related field required; advanced degree preferred
