Title: Technology Systems Specialist/HVAC Controls Programmer

Job Description:
A person assigned to support students and staff with technology needs, to maintain local area networks, printers, computer workstation, and to assist HVAC Controls Lead Operator in maintaining, troubleshooting, programing, and operations of district HVAC System.
Qualifications/Certification/Renewal:
Hold a minimum of an associate's Degree (Bachelor's Degree Preferred) from an accredited institution of higher education, as defined in 126-136-4.5.
Eligible for Initial Temporary Authorization for technology Systems Specialist, as defined by State Board Policy 5202.
Possess a minimum of two basic level technology certificates or one advanced level certification as approved by WVDE.
Receive the recommendation of the county superintendent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Director of Technology, district technology staff, school administration, teachers, and students to provide access to the needed technology resources and services.
Responsible for installation, configuration, service maintenance repairs, modifications, and upgrades on all area networks (LANS), computers, workstations, peripherals, electronic boards, SMART TV's, operating systems, software and other computer related technology.
Work daily with lead HVAC system operator to monitor system.
Assist as needed with all HVAC control maintenance and upgrades.
Assist with all HVAC troubleshooting, resets, monitoring, and adjustments as needed.
Maintain working knowledge of all HVAC system controls.
Reset passwords as needed.
Install and configure network versions of software.
Plan, implement, manage, and provide routine maintenance to all computers.
Assist with training teachers in equipment operation.
Repair computers and technology as needed.
Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade all computer hardware and equipment.
Connect technologies to the districts network.
Help install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support school instructional technology servers.
Set up and maintain backup systems for school instructional servers and data.
Manage users on School servers.
Manage school wireless infrastructure.
Coordinate projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Three years' experience with networking, hardware, software and mobile device management (MDM) systems.
Possesses knowledge of hardware and technical software operations for local area networks, servers and operating system software, computer workstations, MacBook's, iPads, peripherals and related educational technologies.
Ability to understand technical manuals and apply the methods to correct computer, server, and LAN/WAN operational problems.
Demonstrates skills in effective verbal and written communication.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees.
Possesses exemplary organizational skills.
Communicates effectively with all levels of technology and building maintenance users.
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting switches.
Preferred knowledge of basic commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment and the controls that run them.
Ability to install, troubleshoot and manage a secure wireless network.
Ability to troubleshoot Smart Board, projector and Smart TV issues.
Ability to learn new hardware and software without direct instruction.
Ability to create step-by-step training materials on new and existing hardware and software.
Ability to use/learn web-based system of controls that monitor and adjust district HVAC units.
Ability or willing to learn to troubleshoot HVAC system and how to diagnose issues and determine if issue can be remedied in-house or if outside assistance is required.
Willingness to adapt to a flexible work schedule to accommodate installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all HVAC and technology hardware, software and network system needs.
Already have or willingness to earn HVAC and Technology System Specialist licensure and renew it annually, according to WVBE policy.

Employment Term: 261 days 6 am - 2 pm

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Brooke County Board of Education Policy of Evaluation of Professional Personnel
Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
