The Faculty Commons Program Manager works independently, in coordination with the Faculty Commons Chair, Council, and Leads, to plan, market, and manage a variety of professional development offerings for Bellevue College faculty. The offerings take place on campus, fully online, and in HyFlex modalities. The Faculty Commons main programs include new faculty orientations; culturally responsive on ground, online, and hybrid instruction; mentoring and advocacy; Presidents Cabinet office hours; community building; and wellness support. The Program Manager collaborates with campus areas as necessary to maintain the Faculty Commons budget, website, SharePoint site, Teams channels, and resources within the Commons, as well as collects data to determine program effectiveness. The Program Manager may select and supervise a part-time office assistant to support their work.
Pay, Benefits & Work SchedulePosition Salary Range: $70,037/year - $98,052/year
The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Typically, new hires start no higher than $77,041/year based on Bellevue College Exempt salary schedule.

About the DepartmentThe Faculty Commons provides space and organized activities for Bellevue College faculty seeking opportunities for faculty development, community and wellness, mentoring and advocacy, and career development. Supporting both full-time and adjunct faculty, the Commons is led by a Faculty Commons Chair working under the guidance of a Faculty Commons Council. The Commons is designed to facilitate and support faculty-guided innovation and adaptation of curriculum and pedagogy as well as other forms of faculty professional development that contribute to student success and the educational mission and goals of Bellevue College.
Essential FunctionsManages quarterly offerings
- Manages quarterly offerings in the Faculty Commons, including workflow planning, room reservations (25Live), workshop Canvas shells, remote links, editing of final program, website updates, registration processes, and completion certificates.
- Uses appropriate software tools and learning management systems to manage Faculty Commons offerings.
- Supports facilitators to prepare for, run, and conclude offerings.
Manages Faculty Commons budget and faculty payments
- Tracks expenses in CTCLink, including credit card purchases, travel vouchers, budget transfers, etc.
- Compiles faculty workload, stipends, and release time, and submits them to Academic Affairs for processing and payment.
- Reconciles budgets monthly in CTCLink.
- Prepares annual and quarterly budget reports for the Chair and Council.
Manages Faculty Commons information and tracks and reports relevant program data
- Creates and maintains document and resource libraries, Commons Council minutes, and sub-sites for the Faculty Commons leads in the Faculty Commons SharePoint site.
- Uses other programs as necessary to manage Faculty Commons resources and information.
- Collects workshop data quarterly including attendance, completion, and stipend distribution rates.
Manages marketing, website, and media
- Creates and maintains website and social media sites to promote Faculty Commons work.
- Ensures regular communication regarding Faculty Commons offerings via email, BC-FYI, and printed materials.
Manages the Faculty Commons physical space and technology.
- Develops and manages Faculty Commons office operations.
- Coordinates with Campus Operations to maintain the Faculty Commons space so it is clean, organized, safe, and equipped with instructional technology and materials.
- Coordinates with Information Technology Services to maintain and repair computers, OWL cameras, projectors, and printers.
Manages Events
- Manages events including New Faculty Orientations, contracted facilitators, in-person and online mentoring events, and community building activities in support of the Faculty Commons mission.
- Schedules meeting rooms, processes payment for contractors, vendors, and catering services, and coordinates with Campus Operations for cleaning after events.
- Coordinates and schedules quarterly Presidents Cabinet office hours.
Supervises work study student, intern, or hourly employee
- Works with Human Resources to post jobs.
- Screens applications, interviews, and selects applicants.
- Orients selected employees, delegates their tasks, supervises their work, and approves timesheets.
Other duties as assigned
- Provides administrative support to the Faculty Commons Chair and Faculty Leads to onboard faculty into new positions, processes travel and purchase requests, and provides required technology.
- Sends calendar invitations for Faculty Commons Council meetings and takes meeting minutes.
- Coordinates with and provides support for other programs on campus as requested by Chair and/or Council.
- Bachelor's degree. Any combination of relevant education and/or work experience in business, higher education, professional development, or office management may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- One year of professional experience working in an administrative/management position overseeing budgets, purchasing, and reporting responsibilities in a higher education environment or similarly complex environment.
- Project management or event management experience.
- Budget management experience.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
- Effective verbal and written communications, including effective customer service and interpersonal communications.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, OneDrive, Outlook), Teams, and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated ability to use Word Press or other website applications.
- Program management experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated ability to create and meet complex project deadlines.
- Demonstrated advanced ability in SharePoint.
- Demonstrated ability to use Word Press to create robust websites.
- Experience using ctcLink Financials.
- Knowledge of Bellevue College resources.
- Experience planning, creating, and producing marketing materials using appropriate software applications.
- Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices.
- Experience managing classes, meetings, webinars, or projects in hybrid and online modalities, using Canvas or similar learning management system, Zoom, Teams, collaborative applications, and supportive hardware.
