Performance Engineer-Cloud Storage

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and execute performance tests to evaluate the performance of our storage services.
  • Analyze test results and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot performance issues in software applications and systems, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering team to implement performance optimizations.
  • Work with product management team to develop performance metrics that meet customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain performance testing tools and scripts.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on performance-related issues.

Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in performance engineering, with a focus on storage systems.
  • Strong background in storage systems, performance benchmarking, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as FIO, DiskSpd, SysBench etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to write efficient, well-structured code for performance-critical applications.
  • Strong programming experience (5+ years) with a focus on Python, Go, C/C++ or Java.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Engineering, or related field.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud storage services such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
ResponsibilitiesDuties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.Responsibilities
